Capstone project: Preventing Tobacco Addiction Foundation

This project was meant to design an entirely new social media plan for the Preventing Tobacco Addiction Foundation. We decided our first step would be to completely get rid of their existing social media, and focus on posting original content in order to gain more earned media. With original content and information, there is a higher likelihood of users sharing this information across social media, creating earned media, which was a goal for the client.

Here I have created several graphics and gifs to inform and encourage conversation and sharing across social media platforms among our target audiences.

This project was meant to create a super hero or villain movie poster, and I chose to take it in a different direction than what students typically do. Inspired by movies like “Jaws”, I created a super villain named the “Murder Manatee”. Getting revenge on the fisherman who have made these animals endangered, a murderous manatee is wrecking ships and ending the danger on the sea cow specie.

To create the poster, I compiled several different images, combining to create the manatee tail exposed on top of the water. I used Photoshop and InDesign to make the poster. My personal favorite part of the project was creating the titling. This was the first time I realized how important fonts are and how different effects can create a unique feel that represents the product (or film in this case).

This project we were given the assignment to build ads for iconic brands that fit into their existing brand image and aesthetic. I used Illustrator to build both of these ads.

The first is playing off of how the Apple Watch is so easy to adjust to match whatever you are wearing or feeling. You can even change the watch every day of the week there are so many options, which I reflected in this headline driven ad.

The second is playing on how much technology is fit inside the small package of the Apple Watch. The watch can text, make calls, store music, and even check your bank account. Sticking to the brands more simplistic branding, I added the headline on the watch, letting the watch be the most interesting facet of the ad.
